1. The World is generally/Universally alive. Life was understood to be in everything and not only to be found in biological beings but also inanimate beings. Old Lithuanians considered the Sun,Moon,Stars, Water, Trees, Living Stones and so on, to be alive. Life needs to be Honoured, Respected and Loved. Therefore the point of view of the world had been of Respect, Honour and worship. Ancient Baltic Religion-is to take care of life in all it’s forms.
2. The Principals of Harmony. There is Harmony in the World(Earth), but it is not stable, She bends herself and is in a state of constant change……., therefore it is necessary to nurture/kindle, develop and strive for Harmony constantly. Man aspires to add to/supplement harmony in the World (Earth) and She will keep watch over and support man in return. Harmony is our ancient culture and Religious Foundation.
3. Honouring the Gods and Goddesses. There are the Great Gods-Sky God Dievas (Praamzius), Earth Goddess Zemyna,Goddess of Fate and destiny, Laima, Sun Goddess Saule. But in the World there is a diverse variety of Gods and Goddesses which have a great number of actions.People held these Spirits dear/close to them. People would follow the traditions with much timely preparation to make the Gods and Spirits happy.When Man appeases the Gods and make them happy, the Gods will in turn look after Man The Gods meet in nature,they are unseen and express themselves supernaturally. Gods and Goddesses will surely come together in your presence/locality, with the continuation of local customs. It has been seen even in historical Fullfillment/realization.
4. The World is Eternal/Everlasting/from the beginning of Ages. She is continually creating spirits with eternal Divine Power and Form. According to the World Lithuanian meeting It was agreed that there are at least 2 kinds of actions of the Gods- Light and Darkness, creative and Destructive Gods(Dievas and Velnias).Any of the Gods can either be kind or vengeful,creative or destructive at any time It is understood that the Gods interaction was contradictory which created Harmony(Darna) and the way of life/living.
5. The most important affirmation of Morals. (The Golden Rules) An Invitation is extended to do the same to mankind and to all living creatures to do that which you would want to be done to yourself. The Baltic People called such morals as having Humanity. Your compulsion is to avoid revenge, selfishness in love and sympathy for all living creatures and beings. Mans inborn nature is good but bad to …..where harmony assembles itself/comes together. Mans Spirit will be perfect if he/She lives their righteously and not selfishly.
6. Honouring and Respecting the Ancestors. Beyond their past experience, beyond language, beyond the Native Motherland, we are grateful to our Ancestors. Therefore, we are constantly recollecting/recalling/reminiscing and expressing honour to the Ancestors. This is why we draw upon the old Rites and Customs. The Baltic Faith unites all .. , the Living and the Dead. Death is not to be feared.Death simply a change of life. Death is a natural course of Nature. The old Lithuanians believed that there are 2 parts to a person and that when Death came to the body, the Soul(Sielos) is able to remain and cross over into any shape or form(Trees,Fields etc). Before Death, Veliona (Goddess of Death)being pleased with the dying person, comes to them from the World of the Dead to the World of the Living to comfort the dying and help to guide the Spirit(Veles) to Dausos(Summerland). By ritualistically performing the customs and traditions, the Living and the Dead are able to meet again.
7. Nature is Sacred and Holy…..and the whole world is living Holy and most perfect. All is united/connected, at peace and is able to revive and bring people to back to their senses. Our Nation/People grow and refine/mature with their Earth/Land. Lithuanian Earth/Land is considered Holy and Sacred. Without their Land our Nation cannot live or remain whole. Respect, Honour and Love for our Earth/Land, and she will keep watch over you, care for you and Protect you.
